Dear Sir or Madame,
I am writing in response to the Graphic Designer: Chicago position.
In the spring of 2008 I read the book The Art of Innovation for the first time. I was so impressed by the thought processes behind the book, that it would change the way I approached my work from there on out. I would graduate with a degree in graphic design a couple months later, and began to consider my skills and training as tools to use for solving problems, rather than and end in and of themselves. I also visited your Palo Alto location and was blown away by the team atmosphere and collaboration that takes place.
Since then, I have been involved in the graphic design / web design / interactive industry as both a Project Manager and, currently, senior designer. After much consideration I feel my experiences, considerable skills, high-energy personality type and proven successful projects would be a great fit with IDEO. I look forward to visiting with you and your company in the near future to discuss possible opportunities.
